KRON—-The Supreme Court decided Wednesday to temporarily block a lower court order allowing a Virginia transgender man to use his high school boy’s bathroom.

The decision is a temporary win for the school and the school board, but not for high school student Gavin Grimm.

Five justices voted for it.

In court documents, the school board asked the court “to preserve the status quo” and let the school policy continue throughout the school year.

This case and similar ones have caused much controversy over transgender bathrooms across the country.

The Department of Justice is even suing the state of North Carolina over its transgender bathroom law.
