Scaring yourself is good for your health

(KRON)—You might want to consider seeing a scary movie or going to a haunted house Monday night.

Experts say being scared can be healthy, but only when we can control it.

They say people enjoy being scared, but there is a difference between real and fake fright.

Watching a scary movie is considered fictional fright, and it gives us a rush of adrenaline causing our brains to be flooded with the feel-good chemical dopamine.

Researchers also say they noticed some people have a sense of calm and improved mood after seeing a scary movie similar to the feeling you might get after taking a yoga class.
