SANTA ROSA (KRON) — Santa Rosa police think that a shooting Monday night may have been gang-related.

Police got a call about gunfire in the 700 block of Rockwell Place at 10:35 p.m. Then, seven minutes later dispatchers got a request for medical attention at the same location.

Two brothers, aged 19 and 24, told police that they were standing outside when a man rode past them on a white mountain bicycle. Then, the men said that the man quickly returned, confronting the two brothers.

Police Sgt. John Cregan says that’s when the bicyclist fired six shots, hitting the 19-year-old twice in the leg and narrowly missing the older brother.

The shooter is described as a “skinny and short” Hispanic man, between 15 and 19 years old. The two brothers old police that the teen was wearing a black or gray hooded sweatshirt.
