SANTA ROSA (KRON) — A high-risk sex offender is back in police custody after he was arrested for assaulting someone at a motel.

Santa Rosa police said Jonathan Hoppner was arrested after an altercation with two mental health support service employees there to help him. It happened at America’s Best Value Inn motel, located at 1800 Santa Rosa Ave, at around 4:50 p.m on Wednesday.

Investigators said he got into an argument with the employees inside a motel room, assaulted them, and then refused to let them leave the motel room.

The victims were not injured during the assault.

Hoppner was arrested for battery, false imprisonment, and a parole violation.

Police said Hoppner is cooperating with the investigation.

Hoppner is a registered sex offender who was recently paroled to Sonoma County.
