SANTA ROSA (KRON) — Police arrested a father in Santa Rosa for driving under the influence after he dropped off his child at school, Friday morning.

According to police, 41-year-old Pedro Riveros was dropping off his child at Roseland Creek Elementary School when police arrested him around 8:30 a.m. in the school parking lot.

Police said, Riveros was driving about 40 mph in a 25 mph school zone, he was spotted driving southbound on Burbank Avenue.

Officers approached Riveros after he walked his 4-year-old son to class. Police noticed signs of intoxication and issued a DUI evaluation.

After the evaluation officers learned that Riveros was found to be on probation for numerous DUI convictions, a suspended license and is required to have an ignition interlock device, but did not.

Police first arrested Riveros for driving under the influence, but officers later discovered he was in possession of methamphetamine.

Riveros was booked on charges of DUI, child endangerment, possession of methamphetamine, violation of probation, failure to have an ignition interlock device and faces charges of having more than three DUI’s within ten years.
