SANTA CRUZ (KRON) — Three men were arrested on Wednesday after a Santa Cruz sheriff detective spotted a car on Portola Drive that matched the description of a car used in a weapon brandishing case on Park Avenue in Aptos the day before, according to police officials Thursday.
Sheriff’s office K-9, sniffed the exterior of the vehicle and alerted suspect narcotics inside the vehicle.
Deputies searched the vehicle and found two loaded handguns. One was under the driver’s seat and the second under the front passenger seat. Deputies also found an AR-15 rifle in the trunk of the vehicle along with approximately 10 pounds of marijuana, according to police officials.
The suspects were identified as Cole Bowman, age 22, and Logan Rocchi, age 23 who were both arrested for possession of a concealed loaded firearm in a vehicle as well as other firearm charges.
A passenger, Darren Cocroft, age 26 was arrested for several warrants and providing a false name to a peace officer.
Bowman and Rocchi both are from Galopolis, Ohio.
Cocroft is a transient from Aptos.
