SANTA CRUZ (KRON) — Police in Santa Cruz arrested a suspect on Tuesday in connection to a drive-by shooting that injured a 20-year-old, according to police.
Anthony Jimenez, a 29-year-old Watsonville resident, was arrested at around 6:30 p.m. at his workplace in Scotts Valley, police said.
On Sunday, police received reports of multiple gunshots in the 200 block of Washburn Avenue at around 4:09 a.m.
A 20-year-old male victim from Santa Cruz was struck in the foot and transported to a trauma center with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation revealed that the Jimenez and the suspect got into an argument during a house party at the house.
Jimenez left, then returned a short while later and fired several shots from a car into the doorway of the home.
Witnesses reported seeing a light-colored Volkswagon Jetta fleeing the scene.
Jimenez was in possession of the vehicle that matched the description from witnesses.
Jimenez was arrested for attempted murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling and criminal threats.
