SANTA CRUZ (KRON) — They say criminals never forget the names of the police officers who arrest them and that may be true for one Santa Cruz man.

Prosecutors say a Santa Cruz police officer arrested 31-year old Christopher Schuette a year ago on child pornography charges. Schuette was then released on Bond.

This past December, investigators say they were tipped to a Facebook profile they say Schuette created in the name of the officer who arrested him months earlier. He was allegedly spreading “inappropriate photographs” while claiming to be the officer.

This week Santa Cruz County sheriff’s deputies with help from the FBI and San Jose police raided Schuette’s Santa Cruz home. They say they found more child porn during the search.

The defendant is now in jail on a quarter million dollars in bond. He’s now charged with distribution of child pornography, false impersonation, stalking, and committing a felony while on probation.
