SANTA CRUZ (KRON) — Leap Day wedding ceremonies are happening Monday thanks to the Santa Cruz County Clerk’s Office.

The cost for a wedding ceremony is $100 and couples will receive a special souvenir marriage certificate, according to the clerk’s office. So far, five couples have scheduled ceremonies with the office today.

“February 29 is a special day and couples who want to make it their wedding day will have plenty of opportunity to do so in Santa Cruz County,” County Clerk Gail Pellerin said in a statement.

The ceremonies will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the clerk’s office located at 701 Ocean St., Room 210 in Santa Cruz.
