SANTA CRUZ (KRON) – A high-risk wanted felon and his girlfriend were arrested Saturday after authorities found nearly a pound of crystal meth worth about $27,000 stashed in their storage locker, Santa Cruz police said.
Adrian Puga, 32, of Watsonville, and Selene Bazarnick, 33, of Santa Cruz, were arrested with heroin, methamphetamine, prescription pills, and marijuana for sale, police announced Thursday.
On Saturday, officers and members of the Neighborhood Enforcement Team searched cars and a storage unit located at Mission Street Extension connected with the suspects, police said.
Their search uncovered three quarters of a pound in suspected crystal methamphetamine with a street value of more than $27,000, according to police.
The couple were also in possession of a stolen gun, and found with $1,000 in cash that is believed to be profit from the narcotics, police said.
Puga was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for failure in complying with his post release community supervision and alleged narcotics-related crimes, according to police.
Bazarnick was arrested on suspicion of possessing suspected methamphetamine, possessing a small amount of heroin and violating her probation, police said.
