SAN RAFAEL (KRON) — Police have released a suspect sketch in an attempted carjacking in San Rafael.
It happened Monday at around 7:30 a.m. A man walked up to a car, which was stopped at a red light on Third and Heatherton Streets.
He pointed a gun at the 28-year-old driver from Rio Vista and demanded the driver get out, police said. The driver refused, and that’s when a second criminal opened the right rear passenger door, police said.
The driver took off when the light turned green and the suspects got away.
Police do not have a description of the second suspect, but the armed suspect in the sketch is described as a black man who is about 6 feet tall and has a long, thin face with pronounced cheekbones and full lips.
He has dark colored eyes and an eyebrow that has a shaved line or scar across it. He was wearing a dark-colored pullover hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call San Rafael police at (415) 485-3000.Bay City News contributed to this report.
