SAN LEANDRO (KRON) — San Leandro police are looking for 19-year-old twins who they said are involved in a series of drive-by shootings with BB guns.
On Wednesday, detectives conducted a search warrant at a home on the 15500 block of Farnsworth Street near Manor Boulevard.
That is where they found evidence, including a BB gun, linking the twins to the crimes. Detectives were hoping to meet with the twins at that home but they were not home at the time of the search.
Family members said they would convince the two to surrender, but the twins refused.
And now, detectives said there are new details in the case.
“Detectives are continuing their investigation and attempted to meet with the two suspects before arresting them,” Lt. Robert McManus said in a press release. “However, the men refused to speak with detectives and have since retained an attorney.”
Detectives will be meeting with the Alameda County District Attorney to ask that arrest warrants be issued for both teens, charging them with several counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
