SAN JOSE (KRON) — San Jose police are looking for two people accused of robbing a San Jose department store in 2015, and then running away from the scene after one of the suspects attacked a store employee, police said Tuesday.

It happened at around 7 p.m. on Sept. 12, according to police. A woman entered the J.C. Penney’s store at the Eastridge Mall located at 2230 Eastridge Loop, according to police.

The woman placed several cosmetic items inside her purse and then exited the store. A security guard confronted the woman outside the store and escorted her back inside, police said.

Once inside, the woman broke away from the guard and alerted a man who was apparently her associate, police said.

When the security guard once again attempted to take her back into custody, the man shouted “Let go of my sister,” according to police.

The man attacked the employee, striking him with his hands and feet. The pair then fled the store with the merchandise, police said.

Police have released surveillance video of the incident.

The woman is described as heavy set, weighing about 190 pounds and is between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall and between 19 to 22 years old. She was wearing a white top and blue jeans and had a brown satchel type of purse, according to police.

The man is described as being between 22 and 29 years old, weighing 150 pounds and is 5 feet 8 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes.
