SAN JOSE (KRON/BCN) — Police in San Jose Saturday morning are investigating an officer-involved shooting.

Officers with the San Jose Police Department responded at 3:23 a.m. to a report of a shooting into a building near Fruitdale and Meridian avenues.

Officers stopped a suspect vehicle nearby, and one suspect fired at least once at officers, police said.

The officers returned fire, and the suspect was struck at least once. The suspect was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.

No officers were injured in the incident, and police said there are no outstanding suspects.

The area of Meridian and Fruitdale avenues is currently closed off due to the investigation.
