A guilty verdict for a man accused of killing his parents in San Jose brings a 2-year-old murder case to an end.

Hasib bin Golamrabbi defended himself and tried to pin the murders on his younger brother.

He even took the stand. He was motionless when the verdict was read in court on Thursday morning.

The jury found Golamrabbi guilty of two counts of murder, two enhancements for using a firearm, and two special circumstances of lying in wait.

Golamrabbi shot his dad 13 times and then shot his mom once in the back of the head after an argument in the family’s Evergreen garage.

He and his 17-year old brother were initially charged with murder, but the charges were later dropped for the 17-year old.

Golamrabbi spent a lot of his defense trying to blame the killings on his 17-year-old brother, calling him a mastermind. The 17-year-old testified, saying his dad and brother fought a lot about his education, having a job, and the rules of the house–and he heard the gunshots.

Golamrabbi will find out his punishment on Nov. 16.

He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole.
