TUNITAS BEACH (KRON) — A San Jose resident drowned at Tunitas beach in San Mateo County yesterday morning.
Sheriff deputies were dispatched around 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning to Tunitas beach of a possible drowning.
Upon arrival deputies and Coastside Fire Protection were able to locate the victim and perform all life-saving measures, including CPR.
The measures were not successful and the 34-year-old male victim was pronounced deceased.
According to sheriff deputies, the male victim went to the beach with family and friends and was in the water waist deep. The victim was struck by a wave and was dragged out in the water.
After friends and family searched the surf, they were able to locate the victim unconscious on the beach. The family initiated CPR and called 911.
