SAN JOSE (KRON) — Police arrested the man suspected of killing his father on New Year’s Day, according to San Jose police.

Maxim Zhukov, 30, of San Jose, was arrested Thursday in Palo Alto on suspicion of murder, according to the San Jose Police Department.

He is accused of killing his father Evgeniy Zhukov, 54, also of San Jose, police said.

Family members reported the 54-year-old missing just before 9 p.m. on Jan. 1.

On Monday, investigators received information Maxim Zhukov was possibly involved in his father’s disappearance.

Police in Richmond later found the victim deceased in his car and discovered a crime may have taken place at the victim’s residence in the 6600 block of Neptune Court in San Jose.

Maxim Zhukov was taken into custody without incident.Bay City News Service contributed to this article
