SAN JOSE (KRON) — Anton Cao, an 11th grade student at Evergreen Valley High School in San Jose, has been invited to attend the 2016 White House Science Fair being held on Wednesday, April 13, according to a East Side Union High School District spokesperson Tuesday.
Cao earned a perfect score on the AP Calculus AB exam in Spring 2015 and was 1 of 12 students in the world to earn every point possible on the exam, according to ESUHSD spokesperson.
Looking across approximately 4.5 million AP exams taken by 2.5 million U.S. public high school students in 2015, only 322 students earned every point possible on an AP exam, a rare accomplishment, ESUHSD spokesperson said.
President Obama will host the 6th and final White House Science Fair of his Administration.
As an honored guest, Cao will hear remarks from the President, and interact with other students, professional scientists, high-level senior government officials, private sector representatives, and others.
The President will announce all new commitments in support of the Administration’s “Computer Science for All” initiative announced earlier this year, as well as the “Educate to Innovate” campaign to ensure that all students are engaged and prepared in STEM subjects, according to ESUHSD spokesperson.
