SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — On Friday afternoon in San Francisco many marched off in honor of the big quake that hit the city in 1906.

The parade kicked-off Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Lefty O’Doul’s Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, located at 333 Geary Street, and ended at John’s Grill, located at 63 Ellis Street, for the Survivor Luncheon at 2:00 p.m.

The parade honored the memory of the two last survivors of The Great San Francisco 1906 Earthquake and Fire’s 110th Anniversary.

Festivities to honor the parade included San Francisco Police Department and Mounted Patrol leading antique fire engines and a 45-member George Washington High School marching band.

There were many notable attendees, including: San Francisco Fire Department Chief Joanne Hayes-White, Lillie Coit, Emperor Norton.

Honorary Survivors, John Konstin and Nick Bovis rode in a 1931 Lincoln Phaeton, parading three blocks.

The families of 1906 Earthquake and Fire Survivors, dignitaries, San Francisco City Officials, Police and Firefighters, as well as VIPs and historians were all able to honor and look back on this event.
