SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 16-year-old girl has been reunited with a cello that was stolen from her parked car.

Tuesday night, around 11:30 p.m., a person walked into a par in the 900 block of Grant Street and dropped off a stolen cello with an employee. The anonymous citizen asked the employee to give the cello to police and then left the bar.

The employee had heard about the stolen cello and called police to let them know it had been recovered.

The 16-year-old girl was called and reunited with her cello at Central Station.

The cello is valued at about $8,500. While police are happy that the girl is back with her musical instrument, they aren’t forgetting that this is an open and active investigation.

The cello was stolen on Saturday, April 11 around 9 p.m.

That’s when two people are believed to have entered a parking garage on the 100 bock of O’Farrell Street and stolen the cello from the teen’s car. Along with the cello, several other items were taken as well.

The first suspect is described as a white male approximately 5’09″ 170 lbs., with a shaved head, between 30 to 40 years of age. The second suspect is described as a white female approximately 5’05″ medium build 160 lbs., with brown hair, between 20 to 30 years of age.
