SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco has already earned the title of the most expensive city in the United States for renters, taking the crown away from Manhattan earlier in 2015.
And a new report shows it appears the city has no intention of giving that crown back anytime soon.
The price for rent in San Francisco for the month of August saw a nearly 14 percent increase compared to a year ago.
The average monthly rate for a one-bedroom apartment is a little more than $3,500 dollars.
Oakland is also seeing a major increase in rent, jumping 23 percent in the month of August compared to a year ago.
