SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Preparations are already underway for “420 Day” in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.
April 20th, or 4-20, is an unofficial marijuana holiday that brings thousands of people to the popular park.
This is an unofficial holiday, but the city says the celebration has gotten too big to ignore.
In 2014, an estimated 15,000 people celebrated in the park.
This year, city and park officials have a plan to control the crowds.
The plan includes several road closures in the area of Golden Gate Park during the evening commute.
KRON 4’s Will Tran has more details on this unofficial, yet popular holiday.
