SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco police are investigating a sexual assault on a 74-year-old woman.
KRON has obtained a surveillance photo of a person of interest. It happened on Sunday afternoon along Pacific Avenue near Stockton Street at around 1:50 p.m., police said.
Police said the suspect entered the woman’s apartment, located on the 800 block of Pacific Street in Chinatown, and sexually assaulted her. The suspect then left the area, police said.
In both English and Chinese, signs are now up on several apartment buildings near where the sexual assault happened warning people about the crime.
Investigators believe the person of interest may have information regarding the incident.
The man was wearing a blue short sleeve shirt and pants, and possibly glasses.
KRON did talk with building management and was told the building is very secure and this is an isolated incident. Management is urging all residents to not let other people, particularly strangers, in the door with them when they enter because that is how they think the suspect got into the building.
If you have information about this case, you are asked to call police at 415-553-9225.
