SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Public works crews were back out again at a homeless encampment on Division Street in the Mission District.
The health department said the area between South Van Ness and 11th Street is in violation of the health code. And on Tuesday, the city ordered the tents be gone in the next 72 hours.
Officials say an inspection found that people in tents along Division Street are living among garbage, human feces, hypodermic needles, urine and other unsanitary conditions.
The city hopes the homeless will move to the shelter it is providing at Pier 80.
City will continue to shelter, feed and provide compassion, innovative solutions and exits from homelessness for our most in need.
