SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Police made an arrest in regards to a homicide in San Francisco last month, according to the San Francisco Police.

On October 1st around 3:55 p.m. police officers responded to the unit block of Burr Avenue in San Francisco’s Ingleside District in regards to a shooting.

Upon arrival officers located a 36-year-old male victim, Giovanni Hernandez laying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. San Francisco’s fire department paramedics were on the scene and provided services, but Hernandez succumbed to his injuries at San Francisco General Hospital.

According to SFPD’s Homicide Investigation Unit, an investigation led to the arrest of 22-year-old San Francisco resident Salevi Levi. Police said he was spotted in the unit block of 6th Street in San Francisco.

Levi was booked into San Francisco County Jail and was charged with murder, attempted murder for shooting at another person who attempted to chase the suspect.

The Director of the Department of Communication for the Archdiocese of San Francisco, confirms that the suspect, Salevi Levi was hired this year as an assistant Freshman football coach for Archbishop Riordan High School.
