A San Francisco man was shot and critically hurt near a Bayview District youth center on Monday afternoon, police said.
The shooting happened at around 12:17 p.m. on the 100 block of Kiska Road. When officers arrived, they found a 43-year-old man shot just across the street from the youth center.
Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, where he is in life-threatening condition.
The victim works for the City’s Street Violence Intervention Program (SVIP).
“The SVIP focuses on outreach and crisis response for youth-related street violence,” police said.
