SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) —  Wednesday evening a bicyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood, according to police.

The accident was reported at 6:44 p.m. at Divisadero Street and Golden Gate Avenue.

The vehicle was making a right turn on a green light when the 31-year-old male bicyclist tried to overtake the car on the right and struck the car’s mirror.

The cyclist fell to the ground and hit his head on the concrete, police said.

He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for head trauma that is considered life-threatening, according to police.

According to police, the driver of the car was cooperative and no arrests were made.
