SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The San Francisco Giants bullpen has struggled this season and they made a move on Monday to fix it. They have reportedly acquired reliever Will Smith from the Milwaukee Brewers.
Smith has pitched 22 innings this season for the Brewers and has a 3.68 ERA. The 27-year-old was drafted in 2008.
According to reports, prospect Phil Bickford and Andrew Susac will be sent to Milwaukee to the left-handed pitcher.
San Francisco was also rumored to trade for power-hitter Jay Bruce, but the New York Mets have made a hard push for the star.
