SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A San Francisco Fire Department paramedic has been arrested for detonating an explosive device in a planter, according to a fire department spokesman.

Police said 32-year-old James Novello detonated the explosive in an Excelsior resident’s planter.

“He is an employee of the SFFD Works as a paramedic on our ambulances. He is currently “not working” status,” fire department spokesman Jonathan Baxter said.

No other information has been made available by police or the fire department.
