SALINAS (KRON) — Police have identified the 49-year-old man who was found dead early Christmas morning in Salinas.
At around 6:45 a.m., the body of Efren Castro, of Salinas, was found inside a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Kimmel Street near Sanchez Elementary School.
Officers made the discovery after responding to a report of a crime.
The victim had suffered traumatic injuries and the death has been classified as a homicide, according to police.
Police believe Castro died at another location and was transported to the KimmelStreet location, where he was left inside the car.
No arrests had been made as of this afternoon, according to police.
