EMERYVILLE (KRON)—A man stole several items from a Nordstrom’s Rack store Tuesday night.

The robbery happened just after 7 p.m. at the store on Emery St.

The caller reported the suspect entered the store and ripped the security cables from a rack of purses.

The suspect then left through the front door.

A loss prevention agent followed the suspect out of the store and tried to apprehend him.

The agent tried making a citizen’s arrest, but the suspect brandished a handgun.

The loss prevention agent was afraid for his safety and ran.

Officers searched the area, but did not find the suspect.

Police describe the suspect as a black man between 45 to 50 years old. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6 feet tall with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a blue knit cap, a grey zip up with red lining and light-colored pants.
