SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – On today’s edition of Rob Black’s Winners and Losers, our financial expert Rob Black and KRON 4’s Mark Danon talk about Macy’s closures, SolarCity and Delta Airlines.

Macy’s said it plans to close about 100 stores, or 14 percent of its store base, and would continue to seek partnerships for its flagship locations as it seeks to turn around its business after six quarters of falling sales.

SolarCity said it plans to make a high-tech roof with integrated solar panels, and hinted at other features as well. Executives said the plan could open up a new market with millions of potential customers in the United States alone. It’s not a thing on the roof, it’s the roof.

This week’s epic fail at Delta Airlines prompted angry comments like this one from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: “an industry that’s happy to gouge passengers for extra bags and operate planes perennially short of pillows must undertake a comprehensive re-evaluation of its approach to customer service”.
