FREMONT (BCN) — Two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle and injured in Fremont this evening, according to a police official.

The collision was reported just after 5:30 p.m. on eastbound Niles Canyon Road just slightly east of Mission Boulevard, according to Lt. Steve

Pace.

One pedestrian suffered a broken leg and has been taken to Eden Medical Center, while the other suffered unspecified injuries and was taken

to Washington Hospital, Pace said. Both are expected to survive heir injuries.

Eastbound Niles Canyon Road is closed at Mission as a result of the collision and will remain closed until around 7:30 p.m., police estimate.

The collision remains under investigation but the driver remains at the scene and no arrest has been made at this time, Pace said.
