Report: San Francisco ranked No. 9 for best cities to watch Fourth of July Celebrations

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco is ranked the ninth best city to watch Fourth of July Celebrations in the United States, according to WalletHub.

Oakland ranked No. 21 on the list and San Jose ranked No. 55. Each city hosts its own fireworks shows. Fremont is 53rd on the list.


San Francisco will be hosting a fireworks show along the Embarcadero on the Fourth of July, starting at 9:30 p.m. There will be free music from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Seattle was listed as the best city for Independence Day celebrations, while Minneapolis came in second on the list. Washington, D.C. was ranked No. 4.

WalletHub made the list using 16 key metrics, including fireworks show duration, three-star hotel prices, and the weather forecast.

The top five most popular Fourth of July destinations are Chicago, Las Vegas, Washington, Orlando, and San Diego, WalletHub said.

The average household will spend $370.75 in celebrations, WalletHub said.

The list consists of the 100 largest cities in the U.S.
