SANTA CLARA (BCN) — A report of a bomb in a car has disrupted service on two Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority lines in East San Jose today, police and transit officials said.
A driver told officers that he had a bomb in his car at North Capitol Avenue and McKee Road around 10:15 a.m., police Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.
The driver was arrested and a police bomb squad was sent to clear the vehicle, Garcia said.
The VTA sent out an online alert at 11:16 a.m. of reroutes to Line 64 in the northbound direction and Line 71 in both directions.
Line 64 takes passengers from the Almaden light-rail station to McKee and North White roads, according to the agency’s online schedule.
Line 71 goes from Eastridge Transit Center and travels along White Road to Great Mall in Milpitas.
