Report: Los Angeles County NFL stadium project up for vote lacks detailed plans

LOS ANGELES (KRON) — A report on a proposed $1.7 billion NFL stadium in Carson says the proposal “lacks any detailed site plans,” making predictions on its functioning and finances difficult.

The report was released just before a scheduled Tuesday night meeting on the stadium project in south Los Angeles County, during which the City Council could endorse the plan and schedule a special election for resident to vote on the proposal.

A financial analysis by consultant AECOM was one of the documents released by the city. It showed that the stadium would need two teams to be a steady money-maker for the city.

Those two teams could be the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders. Both teams have expressed interest in using the shared stadium if they can’t get new stadiums in their current hometowns.

The proposed stadium would be built fairly close to LAX, on a former landfill in Carson.
