Report: B.B. King Rushed To Vegas Hospital

LAS VEGAS (KRON) — Entertainment site TMZ is reporting that legendary blues musician B.B. King was rushed to a Las Vegas area hospital over the weekend.

The 89-year-old suffered a diabetes-related emergency and had to be transported to medical center near his Las Vegas home, the result of dehydration from his condition, the report said, citing unidentified sources.

In October 2014, King issued a public apology to fans after an erratic performance in St. Louis led to audience catcalls and early departures. His publicists called it “a bad night for one of America’s living blues legends.”

The musician was forced to cancel his final eight performances of the tour after being diagnosed with dehydration and exhaustion. He posted a message on Oct. 7 following the cancellation to update fans on his condition.

“I’m back at home now listening to music, watching movies and enjoying some down time. I think I’m busier at home now than on the road talking to friends calling to check up on me. I do appreciate everyone’s calls and concern. I want to tell you, I’m doing alright.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has released over 50 albums during his 67 years in music.
