SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Beleaguered San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick wants to be in the Dog Pound in Cleveland, according to an ESPN report.

Kaepernick, who last year landed in the dog house and lost his job to backup QB Blaine Gabbert, wants to play for the Browns and their new coach Hue Jackson, reported ESPN, citing multiple sources.

The move may finally give Jackson his dream QB. Jackson, who was the Oakland Raiders’ head coach in 2011, said in an interview with Sports Illustrated that he and late Raiders owner Al Davis wanted to draft Kaepernick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

“I think about it all the time, believe me,” Jackson told Sports Illustrated in 2013. “No question in my mind we wanted it to happen, and no question I thought it could happen. We wanted the kid in the worst way.”

Jackson was linked to the 49ers in early January as the team was searching to replace former head coach Jim Tomsula. It was reported that Jackson interviewed with the San Francisco 49ers regarding their head coaching vacancy, but the team signed former Eagles coach Chip Kelly.

Gabbert took over the 49ers’ starting quarterback job in November and expects to compete to be the No. 1 again against Thad Lewis. The Niners signed Lewis to a one-year contract Thursday which reunites him with Kelly in Philadelphia.
