REDWOOD CITY (KRON) — Redwood City police are warning parents about three recent incidents involving someone annoying students on their way to and from school.
Police are still investigating the incidents to see if the three cases are related, and they are trying to identify any suspects.
The suspect is being described as a white or Hispanic man in his 30s. Police said he has dark hair and a mustache.
The suspect’s car is a small, blue four-door compact vehicle, police said.
The first incident happened on Jan. 1 at around 9:30 a.m. A 15-year-old boy was walking to school near Red Morton Park when the suspect drove up to him and asked for directions.
The suspect then offered the boy a ride, police said. When the boy refused, the suspect drove away.
The second incident happened on Jan. 27. At around 6 p.m., police said a 15-year-old girl was leaving Sequoia High School when a suspect drove up to her and also asked her for directions. As in the earlier case, the suspect asked the girl if she needed a ride, police said.
When she declined, she walked away and the suspect drove off.
A similar incident happened on Jan. 28 near Vera Avenue and Sapphire Street at around 8:45 a.m. A 15-year-old girl was involved in this case.
