Red Flag Warning in effect for parts of Bay Area

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the North Bay Mountains and the East Bay Hills.

The warning is in effect from 3 a.m. Monday to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25.

This warning means critical fire weather conditions are expected.

The affected areas include higher terrain areas of Marin, Napa and Sonoma counties.

The following land use restrictions are in effect for the Marin Municipal Water District, Mount Tamalpais State Park, Marin Open Space, and the Point Reyes National Seashore during the Red Flag conditions.

Residents are advised to use extreme caution during this warning because the simplest of sparks could cause a major wildfire.

This includes the use of equipment and smoking.
