Ready-to-eat salads recalled over salmonella, listeria concerns

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The USDA announced that GFSE, LLC is recalling approximately 738 pounds of ready-to-eat salad, because meat products that contain corn ingredients may be contaminated with Salmonella and Listeria.

These products are sold at Walmart.


The ready-to-eat salads with steak were produced from October 11, 2018, through October 14, 2018.  

These products are wrapped in 15.25-oz clear plastic clamshell packages, containing “Marketside™ FIESTA SALAD WITH STEAK.” The use-by date ranges from October 17, 2018, and October 20, 2018.  They also bear an establishment number, “EST. 45781,” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products.  Anyone concerned about an injury or illness is urged to contact a healthcare provider. 

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
