BERKELEY (KRON) — Some of the students filling a school bus were injured in a Monday morning multi-vehicle accident that has blocked westbound lanes on Interstate Highway 80 at Ashby Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Students were left standing on the side of the roadway after the accident involving several cars was reported just after 10 a.m. Monday, according to the CHP.
Some of the 50 students riding the bus, as well as a counselor, sustained injuries, police said. A few of the students suffered bloody noses and a school counselor had a cut on the face, according to the CHP.
The CHP expected the left lanes to remain closed for an hour.
