PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)– A rare event took place at a Luzerne County pet store a few weeks ago.
A two-headed corn snake hatched at pet zone in Pittston, after taking about 10 hours to emerge from the egg.
At first they thought the egg had twins coming but then the two-headed snake appeared.
The unusual reptile will be five weeks old on Wednesday and is doing well after having eaten three times.
The pet store manager, William Pambianco, breeds snakes, but says a two-headed snake is very rare.
“I was pretty excited, I don’t even know how to explain it. It was something really, really cool. It’s something that you read about and see, never thought it would happen to you, it’s almost like winning the lottery,” he said.
There are no plans to sell the two-headed snake.
It will be kept at the store for people to visit.
