It is Derek Carr vs Baker Mayfield at the Coliseum Sunday afternoon.
The Oakland Raiders are trying to win their first game of the season against the 1-2 Cleveland Browns.
Mayfield, who was the number one draft pick in this year’s draft, is now the Browns starter after pulling off a come from behind win last Thursday against the Jets.
Raiders head coach Jon Gruden is comparing Mayfield to former 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia.
Oakland is 0-3 for the first time since 2014. Their latest setback was down in Miami where the team blew a second half lead for the third straight week. Playing four complete quarters has been an issue for this Oakland team. And the losses are easy to get the team’s morale down.
But starting QB Derek Carr says he takes pride on remaining level headed despite his teams struggles.
“One thing about me is every single day, I try to be the same guy every day. I try to be the same guy every day for my teammates. Whether we go out there and win by 20 or we go out there and lose the way we’ve have. And that’s more of a character thing.”
The Raiders host Cleveland on Sunday at 1:15pm.
