SAN JOSE (KRON) — A raid of a San Jose home Friday morning is connected to a homicide investigation, police said.
Officers with the East Palo Alto Police Department conducted a raid at around 6 a.m. in an apartment on N. 2nd and E. Empire Streets.
Lionel McCoy, 23, was taken into custody.
The raid is connected to the murder of a 30-year-old man that happened in June in East Palo Alto, according to police.
No shots were fired and the raid ended peacefully.
McCoy is a suspect in a June 10 fatal shooting at 2455 Illinois St. Officers responding to reports of gunfire that day found a man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds, according to police.
The victim, later identified as 30-year-old Christopher Puckett, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police believe the fatal shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute between Puckett and McCoy.
