A Hazmat team removed the radioactive material inside an unoccupied home this afternoon in San Carlos.
Law enforcement says there is no danger to the public right now.
You can see deputies on scene on the 1000 block fo Cedar Street, making sure the materials in question remain contained and secure.
City officials say the home has been unoccupied for some time now, as the man who lived here died earlier this year.
His family members are the ones who notified the city yesterday at noon about some containers that may contain radioactive material.
When police responded, they closed several streets in the neighborhood as Hazmat crews entered the home.
People who live around here were notified about the situation.
No radiation has been detected on the outside of the containers, so that is why there is no threat to the public.
While the nearby parks and businesses were closed Thursday, city officials say everything will open back up this morning, including the San Carlos Youth Center.
