UPDATE 9:49 PM: As of 9:26 PM, power has been restored to customers in the Sunset and Golden Gate Park district after a raccoon came in contact with the power lines, according to Guidi.
UPDATE 9:20 PM: A raccoon was found on top of a power line causing the outage, according to J.D. Guidi. He says that now around 1800 homes are without power.
SAN FRANCISCO (KRON/BCN) — Power is out for 3,360 PG&E customers in San Francisco living along the southern edge of Golden Gate Park and in the Inner Sunset neighborhood, a PG&E spokesman said.
The power went out at 7:59 p.m. and company officials do not have an estimate of when it will be restored, spokesman J.D. Guidi said. The cause of the outage is still being investigated, he said.
He said this outage is unrelated to an outage earlier today in San Francisco.
