WICHITA, Kansas (KSNW) – Wichita police say a question about a new job sparked a sword and machete fight between roommates. It happened around 7:45 p.m. in the 3100 block of South Clifton.

Police said a 28-year-old man asked his 46-year-old roommate about how his new job was going.

That is when the 46-year-old man grabbed a sword and cut the 28-year-old man on his neck. The victim tried to wrestle away the sword and hurt his hands.

The fight moved outside and the suspect grabbed a machete.

Police arrived and arrested the 46-year-old man. He was booked on charges of aggravated battery, domestic violence and criminal damage to property. The victim was treated at the scene.

During the struggle, a flat screen television worth about $300 was damaged.
