FREMONT (BCN) — The Quarry Lakes in Fremont reopened for swimming this weekend, after closing in March due to toxic algae, East Bay Regional Park District
officials said.
According to park officials, the Alameda County Environmental Department Wednesday cleared the lake, located at 2100 Isherwood Way, to reopen after tests showed little to no toxins for a month.
While park officials said, it is safe for people to swim in the lake, dogs are still not permitted to swim in the lake due to low-level toxins.
Quarry Lakes is open between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. with a general entry fee of $3 for adults and $2 for kids under 15 and seniors over 62.
