OAKLAND (BCN) — Friday protests in Oakland ended without any reported arrests or injuries, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Protesters took to the streets around 4 p.m., gathering at Frank Ogawa Plaza.

The group started with about 10 protesters and grew to between 100 and 150 later in the evening, police said.

The protesters prompted the shutdown of on-ramps and off-ramps along Interstate Highway 880 but were ultimately denied access to the highway by police and the California Highway Patrol.

The group did impact traffic at several downtown intersections.

The Oakland Police Department reported there were no reported citations during the protests.
